Voting Terms

There are a lot of different words used when wording a measure on a ballot at the polls.

Some of those are:

Referendum: the principle or practice of referring measures proposed or passed by a legislative body to the vote of the electorate for approval or rejection

Levy: an imposing or collecting, as of a tax, by authority or force.
